Finally sleeping in his crib?!

So after a week of working with Caleb trying to get him to sleep in his crib I think he finally caught on last night...i hope so anyway! I'm tired of waking up EVERY hour to soothe him back to sleep. It was so much easier with Isabella. She started sleeping in her crib around 3 months. She also had her own room and we utilized cry it out a bit. With Caleb i'm afraid to let him cry too much in fear that he will wake up Isabella and then i'll have two kids to soothe back to sleep. Last night was a good sleep night for Isabella and she didn't whine or cry when we put her to bed and she slept soundly all night so I was finally able to let Caleb cry it out a bit. Seemed to have worked. I put him down around 8pm. He woke up around 10/10:30. I was able to rock him until he was drowsy and lay him back down. Then around 12:30 he woke up for his night bottle (i'm trying to eliminate this but one challenge at a time). Went back to sleep after that and slept until 4am, when I have to get up for work. He acted like he wanted to be up for the day so I let him lay in our bed and play for a bit until he got fussy. He ended up falling asleep in the swing until it was time to head to the babysitter. Praying for another good night tonight!

A visit with Santa

Last year was easy with Isabella. She was only 7 months old when we had her picture taken so she didn't really know or care what was going on. This year was a completely different story!

2 Months Old

My little boy is growin' fast! He's 2 months old already.

We have a name....

well I think so at least! I'm pretty sure we'll be going with Caleb Richard. Richard is after Doug's middle name, his dad's name, and both of his grandpa's names. It's still kinda a secret right now and I think, for now at least, I want to keep it that way. We might tell a select few but for the most part it's a secret. In other news our Tennessee trip is 2 weeks from tomorrow! I'm so excited! Hopefully the car ride won't be too bad. I'm more worried about Isabella being crabby than me being un comfortable. Hopefully she'll sleep a good part of the way. It's about 9 hours w/o stops so that's a long time in the car for a kid who doesn't really like being in the car as it is. I'll be packing lots of toys and books to help entertain her!

Tennessee

Finally it's next month! We're going to the Smoky Mountains next month! I'm pretty excited! I really hope Isabella has fun. I know she won't remember it but I'll take plenty of pictures for her to look at and enjoy when she's older :) Hopefully we're able to do everything we want to while we're there. I've already planned out our daily activities in hopes of getting it all in. Hopefully between all the places we're going we're able to swim at the resort and take a few trail walks on the multiple resort trails.
It's about a 9 hour drive for us. And that's without stops. We will for sure have to stop for food, to let Isabella stretch her legs, diaper changes, and mommy potty breaks, lol. Hopefully I won't get too uncomfortable by the drive. I'll be 25 weeks pregnant.
I've researched a ton for things to do that are age appropriate for Isabella. I've decided on going to a place called Rainforest Adventures. It's a zoo that features rainforest animals. The website says it has over 600 animals that represent over 130 species. There is a drive though animal park and petting zoo we're going to. We'll also be going to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Aquarium (probably the place i'm most excited about aside from the Smoky Mountains National Park). We might also go to a place called Bays Mountain. It's a wolf sanctuary but also features bobcats, raptors, and reptiles. It's about 1 1/2 hours away so it just depends on if we want to make the drive or not. Hopefully we can get Isabella to cooperate while doug and I play a round of mini golf at the Ripley's Old Mcdonald Farm. Plus there is an awesome outlet mall in Sevierville where i'll have to get in a little shopping. As for activities for doug, there is a Bass Pro, a huge knife shop with knives obviously, camping and hunting stuff, and we're planning on going to a beef jerky store. I think we'll have more than enough things to keep us busy!
